Tulare County runs two landfills (Visalia and Woodville) and six rural transfer stations. Flat-load rates apply to cars, pickups and trailers under 8 feet; larger or commercial loads are weighed. Loads must be covered to get the lower rate. Source
The county landfills do not accept electronics, televisions, batteries, fluorescent lights, liquid waste or treated wood. Cars, boats, trailers, motorcycles and mobile homes need a DMV junk slip and fluids removed. Source
The rural transfer stations take cash or check only, with no card payments and no ATM. Source

Before you go

Cover and tie down your load. Many sites charge extra for loose loads.
Liquids, paint and chemicals usually go to a hazardous waste site, not the dump.
Unload quickly and safely: stay clear of heavy equipment on the tipping floor.
